Whether you're just beginning your journey with clay or looking to refine your existing skills, my workshops are designed to help you explore, experiment, and grow as a maker. I offer one-day intensives, two-day weekends, and week-long immersives focused on a range of topics, from technical fundamentals to advanced techniques and creative exploration. Form & Function: Proportion, Volume & Lids


This workshop explores the subtleties of form and function, focusing on how to create vessels with pleasing proportions, appropriate volume, and well-fitting lids. We’ll examine the relationship between aesthetics and function, discuss visual weight, and practice precision in making pieces that work as sets or components.


Student Level: Intermediate to Advanced

Format: One-Day Intensive or Two-Day Weekend

Requirements: Intermediate familiarity with the wheel recommended

Sculptural Pottery: Carving, Altering & Stacking


Push beyond functional work and explore clay as a sculptural medium. Participants will learn techniques for altering thrown forms, stacking multiple components into larger structures, and adding surface depth through carving and texture. This is a workshop for makers interested in narrative, expressive, or architectural approaches to clay.


Student Level: Intermediate to Advanced

Format: Two-Day Weekend or Week-Long Immersive

Requirements: Ability to throw consistent forms and handle leather-hard work confidently

Utilitarian Pottery: Everyday Forms for Daily Use


Discover the beauty of everyday pots. This workshop focuses on designing and throwing forms for daily use, such as mugs, bowls, plates, and serving dishes. We’ll discuss ergonomics, durability, and how to create pieces that feel good in the hand and function beautifully in the home.


Student Level: Beginner to Advanced

Format: One-Day Intensive, Two-Day Weekend, or Week-Long Immersive

Requirements: Basic familiarity with the wheel recommended but not required for beginners

Firing Techniques: Kiln Loading, Programming & Results


Gain confidence in loading, programming, and firing kilns safely and effectively. This workshop explores bisque and glaze firing schedules, kiln atmospheres, and how firing affects glaze results. For advanced students, we’ll also discuss reduction and alternative firing options, and troubleshooting firing issues.


Student Level: Intermediate to Advanced

Format: Two-Day Weekend or Week-Long Immersive

Requirements: Access to electric or atmospheric kilns

Glaze Mixing: Building Your Own Palette


Unlock the mysteries of glaze chemistry. In this hands-on session, participants will learn how to mix glazes from raw materials, test and adjust recipes, and troubleshoot common glaze issues. We’ll cover safety, measuring, and record-keeping so you can confidently develop a personal glaze palette.


Student Level: Intermediate to Advanced

Requirements: Access to a computer and glaze chemistry software
